Consumer Bankruptcy Filing
Liquidation Of Debts
Chapter 7 bankruptcy is a way to eliminate all of your debts, except student loans, certain taxes, and alimony / child support. In most cases, filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy clears all of your unsecured debts (credit card debt, medical bills, utility bills, bank loans, etc.) while you continue to pay your secured debts (home mortgages, student loans, automobile loans etc.).
Not everyone qualifies for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and, frankly, it's not right for everyone. Call me to schedule a free initial consultation to determine if Chapter 7 bankruptcy is an option or if there's a better way to proceed given your current situation.
Reorganization Of Debts
Chapter 13 bankruptcy is a more conservative form of bankruptcy that focuses on restructuring your debts in order to provide you with a three to five year repayment plan that varies depending on your level of income. Once the repayment period ends, the rest of your debts are eliminated with the exception of student loans, alimony / child support, home mortgages, and a few other exceptions.
Depending on your personal financial situation, Chapter 13 bankruptcy could be right for you. Click the button below to book a free initial consultation to review your options.
